I figure there's not much by the way of tutorials because it's pretty simple and straightforward. Scarymuffin's video points out that there aren't really many "tricks" for the puzzle, and you've noted that there isn't much in the way of combos.
For me, the hardest part of duty nav was figuring out how to control the board. Now that I have the mechanics of the game down, it's pretty simple. I read those links you point to two months or so ago, and they were enough, with a bit of practice.
I score Excellent most of the time, so I could be faster, but that's enough for me to mem and keep the ship moving.
